Jessie's Dance Story

My name is Jessie Healy I am 5yrs old, I have 2 brothers Ryan & Lee. I started dancing with Laura when I was 4 ½ in February last year. I danced solo at a few competitions and I won a few medals after 8weeks I got a boy partner called Cian Hughes he is 7 now. It was great when we started dancing together we had a lots of fun. We went to the Isle of Man last September and we had great fun on the plane with all the class. The competition was great and me & Cian won lots of medals. We had a great time at Christmas when me & Cian, Ailbhe & Sam and Derry & Sarah Jane were on the Late Late toy show we danced the CHA CHA CHA and saw the SUGA BABES I love them they are great.This year in March me & Cian won the U8 Latin republic of Ireland championships and then in June we won 4 - 1st places (2 ballroom & 2 Latin) in the “U8 All Ireland Championships” IT WAS GREAT we got the biggest Trophies ever and later on in the Hotel my mammy filled the cup with coke and we all got to drink out of it that was great.I am so happy that my mammy started me in dancing because I really love it especially the Latin because its fast and I love Laura she helps me so much.Thanks Laura Love from Jessie (5)PS . Cian's Dance Story

My name is Sarah-jane and I am 5 1/2 years old. I started dancing when I was 4. My partners name is Derry and he is very funny sometimes. We go to classes in Swords and Beaumont and we have a private lesson on Thursday, which is hard but we still have a great time. I practice with my mum at home all the time, we would waltz around the house or do the cha cha. We were on the Late Late Toy Show with Pat Kenny in December and we had a great time. We are doing a fashion show and a competition next weekend. We get medals and trophies at the competition and I bring them in to school to show my teacher. I love my dresses and getting my hair done. I love Laura, shes my favourite teacher.Sarah-jane (aged 5)

Derry's Dance Story

Hi I’m Derry and I’m am six-year’s old, I began dancing at the Laura O’Brien School of Dance in January 2005. I had watched my sister Niamh dance in competitions and win loads of medals and decided this looked like fun. I began in the tot’s class and danced solo for about eighteen months. My highest ranking doing solo was last September at the Isle of Man dance Festival I was placed 1st in the Cha Cha Cha and I received a gold medal for this.My Mam was then asked by Laura to bring me to the Swords class, as she wanted to match me with a girl partner. I was so excited and last summer we went to Swords and met Sarah-Jane and her Mam. I was a bit scared dancing with a girl but after a few classes we were fine. I like dancing with Sarah-Jane she says that I am funny, I think she is lovely. We danced on the Late Late Toy Show, with Cian & Jessie and Sam & Ailbhe; it was great fun. We are now known as the six baby superstars. Sarah-Jane and I have just started doing a private lesson with Laura, it’s hard work but Laura is a great teacher and shows us exactly how to do the steps right.I love dancing because I have made loads of friends and I have a lovely dance partner. I enjoy getting ready for the competitons, you get to wear smart clothes and Sarah-Jane’s Mam got her a lovely dance dress made and got me a matching bow tie so we look the part on the dance floor.
